On Soom, a Telegram group is transferred by: Group ownership transfer. Every handover is fully screen-recorded with an escrow agent present, and the money stays held by Soom until the buyer confirms and a 7-day protection period ends.

Group ownership transfer

A basic group is upgraded to a supergroup when needed, then ownership is transferred officially

  1. Have 2-step verification on for 7+ days and this device signed in for 24+ hours (Telegram's rule for ownership transfer)
  2. Add the platform's verification bot as an admin with no rights so the system can check the owner automatically
  3. Link the buyer's Telegram account with the platform bot (/start) so its ID is known
  4. Add the buyer as an admin
  5. Transfer group ownership to the buyer (Telegram asks for the 2-step password)
  6. Automatic check via Bot API: the owner (creator) is now the buyer
  7. Remove the seller and every seller-controlled admin and bot
  8. Agent reviews every security page and confirms the handover
  9. Buyer confirms full control of the account
  10. Re-prove ownership at every checkpoint of the protection period
