Hand over the Google account that owns Play Console

Google does not move the developer account itself: the owning Google account is handed over, then developer and payment details are updated to the buyer. To move one app, use the official app transfer instead.

  1. Declare the original email, purchase history and every linked login
  2. Deposit the login credentials in the encrypted vault
  3. Start a recorded handover session with the escrow agent
  4. Buyer signs in on their own device
  5. Change the email to the buyer's email
  6. Change the phone number to the buyer's number
  7. Change the password
  8. Reset 2FA to the buyer's authenticator and regenerate backup codes
  9. Sign out of every other device and session
  10. Add the buyer as owner in Users and permissions and remove the seller's users
  11. Update developer details and payments profile to the buyer and complete Google's identity check if asked
  12. Hand over signing keys, source code and linked Firebase projects
  13. Agent reviews every security page and confirms the handover
  14. Buyer confirms full control of the account
  15. Re-prove ownership at every checkpoint of the protection period
